In our opinion and experience , here at DYA Network, LACK of flexibility is one of the main reasons for muscular injuries. In this section you will find information on various forms of stretches and exercise that can help improve, speed, agility,strength, decrease the chance of injuries and improve sports performance levels of athletes of all ages.
Stretching prepares the body for exercise, keeps the muscles flexible and increases your range of motion in the joint. Without flexibility we limit range of motion in our joint, muscles can become short and tight increasing the chance for injury when the muscle is needed for activity.
WHAT IS FLEXIBILITY ?
Flexibility is the range of motion around a set of joints or a particular joint. Flexibiltiy helps improve our ablity to reach, bend and twist with activity. Think of bending over to touch your toes, keeping your knees straight, if you lack flexibity you might only be able to reach your hands to your knees. This could be an indicator of tight hamstring muscles.
